Help Make Luke's Home Accessible
At just 3½ years old, Luke Brand's life changed forever when he suffered a stroke. Now 8 years old, Luke continues to face physical challenges every day. While he can move his arms and legs, he is unable to safely navigate daily life without the support of those who love him.
Luke is one of five energetic brothers, and together with their parents, Phillip and Ginny, they are a family that meets every challenge with determination, faith, and love. His brothers include Luke in everything they do, making sure he never misses out on being part of the adventure.
Today, one of their greatest challenges isn't medical—it's accessibility.
The Brand family lives in a historic home that was never designed for someone with a disability. Stairs make it difficult to get Luke safely in and out of the house, and the bathroom is not accessible for bathing and other basic daily needs. What most families take for granted has become one of the hardest parts of caring for Luke.
Phillip and the boys are incredibly handy and plan to complete as much of the work themselves as possible to keep costs down and stretch every dollar. Even so, the materials and accessibility modifications are expected to cost between $10,000 and $15,000.
No parent should ever have to choose between making their home accessible and paying for the therapies and treatments their child needs to thrive. By helping make Luke's home safer and more accessible, we can allow the Brand family to continue investing in the life-changing therapies, intensives, equipment, and care that insurance so often denies.
Any funds raised beyond the accessibility project will go directly toward Luke's ongoing care, including therapies, treatment intensives, adaptive equipment, and other medically necessary expenses not covered by insurance.
If the Brand family has ever encouraged, served, or impacted your life, this is an opportunity to surround them with the same love they have shown so many others.
Please consider giving, sharing this page, and following along. Ginny will be posting updates here so you can celebrate each milestone with their family.
Together, we can help make Luke's world a little more accessible—and a whole lot brighter.
