We want to share a little about our amazing Lian Dominguez. At just 18 weeks into pregnancy, he was diagnosed with Spina Bifida. It was a challenging time, and our family faced some big decisions. We moved from Florida to Philadelphia for three months so Lian could undergo life-changing fetal surgery.
Lian was born at 36 weeks and 5 days, and since then he has grown into a cheerful, funny, and loving 2-year-old. With the constant love of his big sister Mila and his older brothers (ages 19 and 15), Lian continues to amaze us every day.
He works hard in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy every week — and is now at the point where he needs intensive DMI therapy and specialized equipment like walking aids to help him learn to navigate this world and take steps toward walking on his own.
These next steps will be a significant investment — about $5,000–$10,000 for a two-week intensive therapy session plus $2,000–$10,000 for equipment, and this is just the beginning of his journey.
