There are few souls in the world who exist to bring people together; Julie Pelan is truly one of those people. We have all been blessed to have been brought together by her, and now it is our time to come together to support her.

In August of 2026 Julie was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, coming as a complete surprise and uprooting her otherwise healthy and happy life. Through this unsure time Julie has remained incredibly positive and is ready to put her best foot forward in fighting this disease, but she needs our support. With this diagnosis comes many unexpected costs and procedures, and treatment will unfortunately cause delays to her ability to graduate from her master’s program and begin work. In order to alleviate some of the stress and hardship brought on by the costs, we are asking for our community to come together and provide in any way you can. Small, ongoing donations are incredibly helpful, and even a small one-time donation makes a difference! At this time we are only asking for monetary donations to avoid overwhelming the family, but if you would like to support in any other way, please feel free to reach out to Hannah Tammen to coordinate (425) 877-9856.

About Julie:

Julie is 31 years old and was raised in Woodinville, Washington. She went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Northern Arizona University, where she began building the independent, adventurous life she continues to lead today. She shares her home with one cat and considers herself blessed with two sisters, both gained through foreign exchange programs — a testament to how naturally she welcomes people into her life and makes them family. An avid soccer player, Julie has found true joy in her recreational league, where she brings both competitive spirit and genuine warmth to every game. She also loves staying active outdoors, whether she's out on a hike or planning her next trip to see more of the world. A self-proclaimed karaoke addict, Julie is always the one pushing her friends outside their comfort zones, creating more joy and laughter for everyone around her in the process. True to her nature as a firstborn Aries, she is spirited, determined, and unafraid to speak her mind — qualities that have only deepened the loyalty and affection of those around her. She is being supported now in the loving hands of her family and loving boyfriend Kevin. Julie's kindness is immediately apparent to anyone who meets her, and it is no surprise that she has cultivated such a wide and devoted circle of friends throughout her life.

About the diagnosis:

Julie's health concerns began with a persistent cough and fever that simply wouldn't go away. What seemed at first like a stubborn illness led to multiple trips to urgent care and several rounds of antibiotics and steroids, but nothing brought lasting relief. As symptoms continued, it became clear that something more serious might be going on. Initial scans revealed a mass in her chest, and follow-up blood tests suggested cancer was likely. After additional biopsies and further scans, doctors were able to confirm the diagnosis: classic Hodgkin's lymphoma. Testing is still ongoing as her care team finalizes the details of her treatment plan, and we will continue to share updates here as more information becomes available.
