John Caffrey is a bright, loving 9-year-old and a twin whose smile lights up every room he’s in. From the moment he was born, John has faced challenges with Cerebral Palsy (triplegia), a form that affects both of his legs and his left arm. Despite this, he’s known for his laughter, determination, and the joy he brings to everyone around him.
Through consistent therapy, medical treatments, and his unwavering spirit, John continues to make incredible progress. His family truly believes that with the right support, he will one day gain full use of all his limbs. But to reach that goal, John needs a few essential things that insurance won’t cover.
John is in need of a Levity Walker, a medically necessary device that will help him move safely and confidently. Because of his motor control impairments, poor balance, and limited endurance, walking independently can be unsafe without it. The Levity will allow him to stand tall, strengthen his body, and join in all the activities his classmates and twin brother enjoy. The cost of this device is $7,500.
John also needs stem cell treatment—a therapy that has already changed his life once before. After his previous treatment in Panama, his family watched in awe as he began to sit up straighter, his speech improved, and his core strength drastically increased—all within days. It was a breakthrough they’ll never forget. Continuing this treatment offers even more hope for John’s mobility and independence, but it comes at a cost of about $20,000 including travel, and it’s not covered by insurance.
John’s parents have seen firsthand how much potential lies within him. He’s a loving, outgoing boy who just wants the chance to play, explore, and live freely like other kids his age. Every bit of support brings John one step closer to walking beside his twin, chasing dreams, and experiencing the world with greater freedom.
