At just 11 months old, Bo was rushed to the hospital for what was thought to be a double ear infection. Instead, his family received devastating news: Bo had suffered a severe metabolic stroke.

Almost overnight, Bo lost all movement. He was lethargic, in pain, and no longer the happy, smiley little boy everyone knows and loves. After days of testing, MRIs, intubation, and countless difficult conversations, John and Kate were told that Bo might never eat, move, or smile again. Doctors believed he had a severe form of Leigh Syndrome and warned that surviving beyond age three would be unlikely.

But God had other plans.

In a matter of days, Bo began doing what doctors could hardly believe—moving, eating, gaining strength, and smiling again. He went from completely immobile to crawling around and keeping everyone on their toes. His recovery has been nothing short of miraculous.

Today, Bo is home with his family, but his journey is far from over. He has been diagnosed with an extremely rare genetic disorder, with only one other known case identified by his medical team. To help prevent future metabolic strokes and support his recovery, Bo will require ongoing medical care, specialist appointments, medications, and intensive therapy five days a week.

We would love to rally around the Czarnik family—John, Kate, Bo (11 months), Riley (5), and Addison (3)—as they recover from this traumatic experience and adjust to life with Bo's complex medical needs.

Funds raised will help cover:
• Hospitalization medical bills
• Specialist care (genetics, neurology, cardiology, and metabolic care)
• Physical, occupational, and speech therapy
• Medications and future medical equipment needs
• Travel expenses for hospital visits, including parking and tolls
• Income support during work leave and caregiving demands
• Everyday household expenses as the family navigates this new reality

Thank you for supporting Kate and John during this difficult season. Every prayer, donation, meal, and act of kindness helps lighten the burden and allows them to focus on what matters most—Bo's continued healing and recovery.

For those who would like to support the family through meals, a meal train is also available through this link: https://mealtrain.com/y09vdy
