I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend and her 6-year-old son, Zayn.
I have known Zayn’s mother for over 25 years, and throughout our friendship I have watched her face every challenge with strength, determination, and unwavering love for her son. She has spent years advocating for Zayn, fighting for services, resources, and opportunities that many families take for granted. She is the kind of person who is always first in line to help others—family, friends, and even complete strangers. Today, I am asking our community to come together and help her.
Zayn has CTNNB1 Syndrome, an ultra-rare genetic condition affecting fewer than 500 children worldwide. This condition impacts speech, movement, learning, communication, and overall development. While children with CTNNB1 share many similar challenges, no two children are affected in exactly the same way.
At this time, Zayn is nonverbal but shows signs of understanding. He is wheelchair-dependent but can walk with assistance, and we remain hopeful that with the right support he can continue building skills and achieving greater independence. Like every child, Zayn deserves the opportunity to live the fullest life possible.
While there is exciting hope on the horizon through groundbreaking gene therapy research, children like Zayn cannot wait years for treatments to become widely available. Right now, access to therapies and specialized equipment offers the greatest opportunity for progress.
Funds raised will help provide access to:
• Physical Therapy (PT)
• Occupational Therapy (OT)
• Speech Therapy
• ABA and developmental therapies
• Medical equipment, including adaptive strollers, gait trainers, mobility supports, and other tools that improve quality of life and independence
Unfortunately, insurance and Medicaid coverage are often limited, and waitlists for services can be extremely long. Every donation will help provide Zayn with resources that can make a meaningful difference in his development, mobility, communication, and daily life.
We hope that with the right amount of support, Zayn can continue making progress and enjoy the best quality of life possible while living with CTNNB1 Syndrome.
Thank you for your generosity, your support, and your prayers.
May God place barakah (blessings) in every act of kindness and reward all those who support Zayn on his journey.
