Jack is 18 months old and already showing the world exactly who he is: feisty, inquisitive, and curious. Born extremely premature at 25 weeks, Jack has faced significant medical challenges from the very beginning, including Cerebral Palsy caused by a severe bilateral grade 3/4 IVH, along with hydrocephalus, CVI, and cPVL. Still, anyone who meets Jack quickly sees that his diagnosis does not define him.
His parents, Lisa and John, are doing everything they can to give Jack every building block possible during this critical window of development. By Jack’s side is his twin brother, cheering him on, celebrating every gain, and reminding everyone that Jack is never doing this alone.
Jack is preparing for a second round of cord blood infusion at Duke, followed by DMI intensive therapy. The cord blood infusion at Duke is approximately $20,000, including travel, and each DMI intensive is about $5,500, also including travel. The hope is to complete two DMI intensives before Jack reaches 35 pounds, when he will age out of eligibility.
Every milestone Jack reaches is the result of early intervention, relentless advocacy, and community support. You can support Jack’s journey, follow along for updates, and share his story to help keep momentum strong as he continues working toward greater strength, mobility, and independence—one hard-earned gain at a time. 💙
