Follow Hunner's journey as he fights to regain what was lost after an anoxic brain injury. We believe every prayer, every share, and every act of support helps carry him forward.
Just 12 weeks ago, our world changed in an instant.
Two-year-old Hunner fell into a pool and suffered an anoxic brain injury. Every parent's worst nightmare became our reality in a matter of moments. Yet even in the midst of tragedy, God performed a miracle. Hunner survived.
Since that day, Hunner has shown us what true strength looks like. He continues to fight every single day with a resilience that inspires everyone who meets him. While we are incredibly grateful to still have our sweet boy with us, the journey ahead is long, and there is still so much work to do to help him regain the skills and abilities that were lost.
Every day is now filled with therapies, exercises, appointments, and opportunities to help his brain heal. We celebrate every victory, no matter how small, and remain hopeful that Hunner's best days are still ahead of him.
As part of his recovery journey, we will be traveling to New Orleans to receive treatment from world-renowned HBOT specialist Dr. Paul Harch. We are prayerful that Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) will help promote healing and give Hunner the best possible chance at continued recovery.
Unfortunately, these treatments are not covered by insurance. The HBOT program itself is approximately $14,500, and because Hunner must remain in New Orleans for nearly two months during treatment, there are additional expenses for housing, travel, meals, and daily living. Following treatment, we hope to purchase an at-home hyperbaric chamber, estimated at another $14,500, so that Hunner can continue receiving therapy and support his ongoing recovery.
