Nolan struggles with a rare disorder, Lamin A/C gene mutation. Henry & Courtney were unsuspecting gene carriers and both passed that to Nolan unfortunately. Nolan is basically a breed of muscle dystrophy with a new gene mutation where the heart gene mutation affected the skeletal muscle system and it thins his heart walls. His prognosis is that he would be wheel chair bound by the time he's 12 years old (he's 11 now and already wheel chair bound) with a like expectancy of 40 years old. He loves being outdoors like any 11 year old boy would, he likes to hunt and fish with his dad, play in the yard with his sister and playing in the sand on the beach. But with a normal wheel chair. its a struggle to get him to some of those places. The Freedom Trax would allow him to enjoy those activities with his family.
