A Family-Inspired Animated Series: "The Five"

We are raising funds to help bring "The Five" to life—an original animated children’s series inspired by the chaos, humor, personalities, experiences, and heart of our real family.

The Bennett Family is a fictional family. The characters are not intended to be exact animated copies of our children or a recreation of our lives. However, the world, personalities, family dynamics, humor, and many of the experiences that inspire the stories are loosely based on our family:

Ours.

My name is Taylor. I am a husband, father of five, and the creator behind this project. Our family is a blended family, and like many families, our lives have been shaped by bringing together different personalities, experiences, perspectives, and family dynamics.

With five children—all with dramatically different personalities—our home can be loud, funny, chaotic, challenging, unpredictable, and incredibly meaningful.

And somewhere in all of that chaos, an idea was born.

What if we could take the funny moments, sibling rivalries, big personalities, misunderstandings, childhood fears, competitions, imagination, mistakes, and heartfelt moments that happen in a real family and transform them into a completely fictional animated world?

That idea became "The Five."

What Is The Five?

The The Five is an original animated series centered around a fictional family with five children growing up together and navigating the adventures, challenges, and hilarious chaos of childhood and family life.

The series follows five siblings with dramatically different personalities. Each sees the world differently, reacts differently, and brings something unique to the family.

Those differences are where much of the comedy—and many of the stories—begin.

The Bennett kids will argue.

They will compete.

They will annoy each other.

They will make mistakes.

They will sometimes drive each other—and their parents—completely crazy.

But underneath all of the chaos, they are family.

And they love each other.

The goal is to create a world that feels recognizable to children and families everywhere, even though the Bennett Family itself is fictional.

Children may recognize themselves in one of the siblings.

Parents may recognize the conversations, arguments, frustrations, and funny moments that happen in their own homes.

And hopefully, families can laugh together while also connecting with the heart behind the stories.

What Will the Stories Include?

The Five is designed to combine several things that we believe make great children’s entertainment:

😂 Comedy

At its core, we want the series to be genuinely funny.

The humor will come from the personalities of the siblings, their interactions with one another, misunderstandings, ridiculous ideas, competitions, imagination, and the unexpected situations they create for themselves.

The goal is not simply to teach a lesson.

First and foremost, we want kids to want to watch because they are entertained.

We want memorable characters, funny moments, unexpected situations, running jokes, and stories that make children laugh.

❤️ Heart and Family

Behind the comedy will be stories about what it means to be part of a family.

The Bennett siblings will not always get along. In fact, they often won’t.

But every family has moments when someone needs help, someone makes a mistake, someone feels left out, someone is afraid, or someone needs to know that they are loved.

Those are the moments where the series can have heart.

The show will explore the relationships between siblings and the everyday experiences of growing up together.

🌲 Adventure and Imagination

Childhood is full of adventure—even when you never leave your neighborhood.

A simple afternoon can become a competition.

A backyard can become another world.

A strange noise can become a mystery.

A disagreement can become a mission.

And an ordinary day can quickly become something completely unexpected.

The fictional Bennett world will be inspired by childhood imagination and everyday family life, with adventures that can range from funny and ridiculous to exciting and heartfelt.

🧠 Meaning Without Lectures

One of the most important goals of the series is that each episode has something meaningful underneath the entertainment.

That might be a lesson about:

Friendship

Honesty

Courage

Responsibility

Jealousy

Competition

Fear

Forgiveness

Kindness

Family

Making mistakes

Growing up

Understanding someone else’s perspective

Being yourself

Learning when you are wrong

Handling disappointment

Working together

However, we do not want the show to feel like a classroom lesson.

The goal is for the message to grow naturally from the story.

Kids should feel like they watched a funny and entertaining adventure—and then realize there was something meaningful underneath it.

Why We Are Creating This

This project started with our family.

As a father of five children in a blended family, I get to watch five very different personalities develop and interact every day.

One child may approach something with confidence.

Another may question everything.

Another may turn it into a competition.

Another may use imagination.

Another may simply find a way to create chaos.

When you put all of those personalities together, there are moments that are funny, frustrating, ridiculous, challenging, and genuinely meaningful.

Over time, I began to see the potential for storytelling.

Again, not because I wanted to put our real family on television.

And not because I wanted to create animated copies of my children.

Instead, I wanted to take inspiration from the personalities, relationships, humor, and experiences that have shaped our family and use them as a starting point for something completely new.

The Bennetts are fictional.

But the heart behind the project is real.

My wife and children love this idea, and their excitement is a major reason I decided to pursue it.

Before this project was ever about the possibility of making money or building a business, it was about creating something that our family could be excited about together.

Something that my children could look at and know:

“Our family helped inspire this.”

A Project About More Than a Show

Of course, we hope The Five can eventually become a successful and sustainable project.

We would love to build an audience, create more episodes, and see how far this idea can go.

But success is not the only reason we are doing this.

I also want my children to see something important.

An idea does not have to stay an idea forever.

Many of us have dreams, projects, and ideas that we talk about but never pursue because they feel too ambitious, too difficult, or too uncertain.

This project is our decision to try.

To learn.

To create.

To take a chance.

To ask for help when we need it.

And to see what can happen when you are willing to take an idea seriously enough to pursue it.

Whether The Bennett Family eventually becomes a large animated series or simply becomes something our family is proud that we created, I want my children to see that sometimes you have to take the first step before you know exactly where the road will lead.

What Makes This Project Different?

There are many children’s shows.

We understand that creating something that stands out is not easy.

Our goal is not simply to create another animated children’s program.

We want to build a family and a world that feels real enough for viewers to connect with.

The characters are fictional, but they will have recognizable personalities, strengths, weaknesses, fears, interests, and flaws.

They will not always make the right decisions.

They will sometimes be selfish.

They will sometimes lie.

They will sometimes get jealous.

They will sometimes hurt each other’s feelings.

They will sometimes make things worse while trying to make things better.

But those imperfections are part of what makes family life—and storytelling—interesting.

The goal is to combine the humor and entertainment that children love with the emotional honesty that makes a story memorable.

We want to create something that children ages approximately 4–12 can enjoy, while also creating moments that parents can appreciate when they watch alongside them.

What Will Your Support Help Us Create?

Creating an animated series requires significantly more than simply writing a story.

To give this project the best possible chance of becoming something real, we need to develop professional-quality proof-of-concept material.

Your support will help fund areas such as:

Character development and refinement

Professional animation

Story and script development

Scene and environment design

Voice development and voice acting

Music and sound design

Editing and post-production

Creating short-form proof-of-concept content

Producing a pilot or sample episode

Developing promotional material

Building an online audience

Marketing and distribution

Preparing professional materials for potential producers, studios, partners, and other opportunities

Our immediate goal is to move beyond an idea and create something people can actually see.

Something that can be watched.

Something that can be shared.

Something that can demonstrate the potential of the characters and world.

And something that can eventually be used to build an audience and open doors for future production opportunities.

Why We Need Help

One of the biggest challenges for independent creators is that larger studios, producers, and partners often want to see proof that an idea can work before investing significant resources into it.

That means creators are often expected to create enough of the project themselves to demonstrate the potential.

That is what we are trying to do.

Our initial fundraising goal is approximately $15,000–$20,000, which will help us invest in the production and development needed to create a professional proof of concept.

This campaign is about helping us take the project from an idea and begin building something tangible.

We are not asking people to believe that we already have a finished show.

We are asking people to help us create the opportunity to make one.

Every contribution—whether large or small—helps us move closer to that goal.

We are raising $15,000 to bring the first professional proof-of-concept of The Five to life, an original animated family series loosely inspired by our blended family. The five children are fictional characters, but the heart of the stories comes from the humor, challenges, relationships, and everyday adventures of real family life.

The creative development is already complete, including the characters, world, stories, and Season 1 concept. Funding will allow us to move into professional production, including animation, voice acting, music, sound design, editing, and final production.

We are looking for both private funders and business sponsors who want to play a meaningful role in helping launch The Five.

WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS

This isn’t simply funding an idea. The Five has already been developed creatively. Your contribution helps us take the next step—turning the completed characters and stories into a professionally produced animated proof-of-concept.

That proof-of-concept will give us something tangible to share with families, producers, production companies, potential partners, and future supporters as we work toward making The Five a larger animated series.

Every contribution helps us get closer to seeing the Bennett family on screen.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who chooses to become part of the beginning of The Five.

How You Can Help

There are several ways to support The Bennett Family.

Donate: Every contribution helps us move closer to creating professional proof-of-concept content.

Follow the Journey: We hope to share the process of building The Bennett Family so supporters can see the project develop from an idea into something real.

Connect Us: If you know someone in animation, children’s entertainment, production, media, or a business that may be interested in supporting the project, we would love the opportunity to connect.

Help Us Take the First Step

We know this is an ambitious idea.

Creating an animated series is not easy.

There are no guarantees.

But we believe in the idea, our family believes in it, and we believe it is worth trying.

The Bennett Family began with the personalities, humor, challenges, love, and chaos of a real blended family.

Now, we hope to transform that inspiration into a completely fictional world that children and families everywhere can enjoy.

This project is about creativity.

It is about family.

It is about taking a chance on something you believe in.

And it is about showing our children that sometimes the biggest difference between a dream and something real is simply being willing to take the first step.

Whether you choose to donate, share this campaign, connect us with someone who may be able to help, or simply follow our journey, we are incredibly grateful.

Thank you for believing in creativity.

Thank you for believing in independent creators.

And thank you for helping us take the first step toward bringing The Bennett Family to life.
