As most know, our sweet boy Grayson was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular
Atrophy (SMA) when he was just three days old. From the very beginning, his life
has looked different than we ever imagined — filled with doctor visits, therapies,
and milestones that don’t always come easily. But if there’s one thing Grayson has
taught us, it’s what true strength looks like. He is determined, joyful, and works
harder than most adults just to do the things other kids his age can do without
thinking.
We are incredibly excited and grateful to share
that Grayson has been accepted into an intensive therapy session at CLIMB Intensive
Pediatric Therapy in Tennessee. This will be his very first time attending, and
we are beyond hopeful about what these two weeks could mean for his future.
CLIMB
uses an intensive pediatric therapy approach called DMI (Dynamic Movement Intervention).
It is very hands-on and focuses on building strength, balance, and motor control
through highly targeted movements. The goal is to help kids work on skills they’re
right on the edge of things like standing, stepping, transitioning, and gaining
more independence. For two weeks, Grayson will work twice a day with therapists
who have extensive experience helping children with SMA. We’ve seen incredible results
from other families, and we are praying this will help Grayson grow stronger, more
confident, and more independent.
Unfortunately, intensive
therapy and the cost of staying in Tennessee for two weeks are not covered by insurance.
Between therapy fees, travel, lodging, and daily expenses, the cost adds up quickly.
That’s why we’re reaching out for help, to give Grayson this life-changing opportunity
and remove as many barriers as possible from his path forward.
