Franchesca Starting Over
Help Me Heal, Find Safety, and Start Over
I'm sharing something deeply personal because life has changed in ways I never could have imagined, and right now, I need a little help finding my footing again.
Over the past few months, I've been hit with one life-changing challenge after another. I've been diagnosed with stage 2 sarcoidosis, including ocular sarcoidosis, an inflammatory disease that has affected my health, my vision, my energy, and my ability to work. I'm also dealing with serious neurological symptoms, migraines, tremors, and debilitating fatigue. My medical journey is ongoing, and my doctors are preparing me for long-term treatment to manage this disease.
While trying to understand my diagnoses and navigate an uncertain medical future, I've also been facing the emotional and physical aftermath of something I never imagined having to face has become part of my reality. I've reached a point where I need to prioritize my safety and begin rebuilding my life.
Starting over is difficult under any circumstances. Doing it while seriously ill, unable to work consistently, and trying to recover from abuse makes every step that much harder.
On top of everything else, I've lost my benefits, leaving me facing even greater financial uncertainty at a time when I have very little capacity to work and support myself. Between the loss of wages, the loss of benefits, ongoing medical expenses, and the cost of establishing stability again, I'm trying to figure out how to cover basic necessities while taking care of my health and finding my way forward.
It's difficult to put these things out in the open. I've always wanted to be independent and handle my own problems. Asking for help is not something that comes easily to me. But I've come to understand that sometimes starting over means admitting that you cannot do everything alone.
I'm creating this fundraiser to help cover basic living expenses, medical-related costs, transportation to appointments, and the necessities of establishing a safe and stable place to rebuild my life. Any support would help take some of the immediate financial pressure off me so I can focus on treatment, recovery, and figuring out what comes next.
If you can't donate, sharing this post would mean so much to me. Even a kind message or a little encouragement can make a difference when life feels overwhelming.
I'm grieving the life I had before my health changed. I'm processing things no one should have to experience in a relationship. I'm trying to navigate the loss of income and benefits while facing an uncertain future.
But I'm still here. I'm still fighting for my health, my safety, my independence, and the chance to build a life where I can heal and feel secure again.
I'm not asking anyone to fix everything for me. I'm simply asking for a little help getting through a chapter of my life that has become more than I can manage alone.
Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read my story, contributes, shares this fundraiser, or offers kindness when I need it most. Every bit of support means more than you know. ❤️
With love and gratitude,
Franchesca
