During the summer of 2025, I was beginning to train for my first 10k race. Due to chronic health issues, surgery, and recovery, I gave up on that goal. Every day of training was harder than the day before to train. Each day it got harder and harder to get up, tie my running shoes, and train. I lost site of my goal, my motivation and drive to achieve my goal. One year and one surgery later, I have decided to dust off my running shoes. I knew it would be hard to step up to this challenge again, so I have decided to find a purpose for my running:
WI End of Watch Honor Run
With every race I run, I will dedicate my miles to a fallen officer. I will run in their name, remember their service, and carry a small piece of their story with me across every finish line.
But the purpose of this isn’t simply to remember the officers who made the ultimate sacrifice. It is also to remember the people they left behind.
Behind every End of Watch is a family, a spouse, a child, a parent, a sibling, friends, and fellow officers whose lives were changed forever. Their loss doesn’t end when the funeral is over or when the headlines disappear. They continue carrying that loss every day.
That is why I partnered with Concerns of Police Survivors WI Chapter (C.O.P.S.)— to raise funds to help support the families and survivors who have had to learn how to move forward without the person they love.
I know I can’t take away their pain. I can’t bring their loved ones home. But I can run.
I can run with their names.
I can run for their stories.
I can run for the families who continue to carry their loss and to honor their sacrifice along with the officer they lost.
And I can ask others to join me in making sure these heroes are never forgotten.
Every donation, regardless of the amount, helps make these miles mean something more and gives each step I take, a deeper purpose. Your support isn’t just helping a fundraiser—it is helping carry a legacy forward and stand beside the survivors who continue to live with an unimaginable loss.
They answered the call.
They gave everything in the face of danger.
Their watch has ended their sacrifice and name lives on.
I will carry that honor with me, one mile at a time.
WI End of Watch Honor Run
Running for the fallen. Supporting the survivors. Keeping their legacy alive.
