Hello to our family and friends.
My name is Donna, and I am raising funds for myself, my husband, and our family of seven. We have been through more than I ever imagined, including homelessness, living in our car, and spending a full year in a shelter while trying to keep our family together. In February 2023, we were finally able to move into our current home through Section 8, and for the first time in a long time, we felt some stability. Now the owner wants to sell the house, and we are facing the very real possibility of losing our home again. For a family our size, housing options that accept Section 8 are extremely limited, and we may be left with no safe place to go.
On top of that my husband was later diagnosed with epilepsy. Since then, working has become another painful struggle, because when employers hear the word epilepsy, they do not give him a chance. We have also lost most of our extended family, and we truly have nowhere else to turn for help.
How your support helps: this fundraiser will go toward helping us purchase the home we are living in now, so we can avoid homelessness again and keep our children in a safe, stable place. I am asking from the bottom of my heart for your prayers, kindness, and support. Every donation, no matter the size, will help our family move closer to security and the chance to stay together under one roof.
