Diego was recently diagnosed with stage III testicular cancer,
which has spread to his lymph nodes. His treatment includes intensive chemotherapy,
and the road ahead will require strength, faith, and a strong support system.
Diego
and Val have medical insurance, which provides great support, but like many plans,
it doesn’t cover every expense. Between deductibles, out-of-pocket costs, and Diego
taking time off work, there are additional financial considerations as they focus
on his treatment and recovery all while adjusting to their new home.
Because
chemotherapy can affect fertility, Diego and Val are also taking proactive steps
to preserve their ability to have children in the future. Fertility preservation
and related treatments are often not fully covered by insurance, creating additional
unexpected costs.
As treatment begins, practical
support can also make a big difference including post-chemotherapy IV hydration,
meals during challenging days, and help with household tasks when energy is limited.
This
page was created for those who have asked how they can help. Contributions whether
financial, providing a meal, sponsoring hydration, or simply offering encouragement
allow Diego and Val to focus on healing.
A message from
Diego and Val:
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you
for thinking of us, praying for us, and donating what you can. We feel so loved,
so supported, and so hopeful as we move forward together.
