A Mother’s Fight for a Safe Place to Land — A New Beginning for My Three Children
Sometimes the strongest mothers are the ones silently wondering how they’re going to make it through another day.
My name isn’t nearly as important as the three little lives who call me Mama.
I am a single mother to three beautiful children: my daughter and my twin sons. They are my entire world, my greatest blessings, and the reason I continue putting one foot in front of the other, even on the days when life feels impossibly heavy.
Our journey has been anything but easy.
I am a survivor of domestic violence and unimaginable personal hardships. I have spent years trying to rebuild a life from circumstances I never imagined I would face. Along the way, I have learned that survival and stability are two very different things. Surviving means making it through another day. Stability means finally having the opportunity to breathe, to heal, and to build something lasting.
And that is what I am fighting for.
My twin boys have faced significant medical and developmental challenges, requiring ongoing evaluations, specialist appointments, and constant advocacy. There have been frightening moments, sleepless nights, and countless unanswered questions. As their mother, I would give anything to take their struggles away. Since I cannot, I do the next best thing: I stand beside them, fight for their care, and refuse to give up on finding answers.
My daughter deserves that same sense of security. She deserves to experience childhood without being overshadowed by the hardships surrounding us.
All three of my children deserve a home where they can simply be children.
Right now, our family is facing severe financial hardship while I work toward securing safe, permanent housing. I am actively pursuing assistance, exploring every available resource, and doing everything I can to establish a foundation for our future.
But the reality is that determination alone cannot pay a security deposit, furnish a home, keep groceries on the table, or cover the expenses that come with raising three young children.
And admitting that I need help has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.
I have always wanted to be the mother who could figure everything out, the one who could carry every burden and somehow make everything okay. But I am learning that even the strongest people sometimes need someone to reach back when they reach out.
I am not asking for an extravagant lifestyle. I am asking for the opportunity to give my children the ordinary things that mean everything: warm beds, a safe home, reliable transportation, food in the kitchen, clean clothes, and a peaceful place to return to at the end of each day.
I dream of hearing their laughter echo through a home we can call ours. Of cooking dinner while they play nearby. Of tucking them into bed knowing that, at least for tonight, they are safe, comfortable, and surrounded by love.
Those are the moments I am fighting to make possible.
My wishlist represents the practical needs standing between our current circumstances and the stability I am working so hard to create. Every item, every contribution, and every act of kindness would help relieve a burden and move us closer to a new beginning.
I know there are many families struggling, and I know no one is obligated to help ours. Whether you are able to contribute, share our story, offer a resource, or simply keep my children in your prayers, please know that your kindness would mean more than words can express.
I do not want my children’s story to be defined by everything we have endured. I want it to be defined by everything we overcame.
One day, I hope to look back on this chapter and tell my children that when life became too heavy for their mama to carry alone, there were people who reminded us that compassion still exists.
I cannot promise that our road ahead will be easy. But I can promise that I will never stop fighting to give my children the life they deserve.
Because I am their mother.
And no matter how many times life brings me to my knees, I will keep finding a way to stand back up for them.
From the bottom of this mama’s heart, thank you for taking the time to read our story, for seeing our family, and for considering being part of our new beginning.
With love, faith, and a heart that refuses to surrender,
A mama fighting for her three little miracles. ❤️
