Hi, my name is Shaquanda, and I’m a single mother to a beautiful, bright, and loving little boy who is autistic. I’m reaching out with a heavy but hopeful heart to ask for support as I work toward building a safe, stable home for the two of us.
My son has already endured more than most children his age. His father passed away shortly after his birth, and I’ve been raising him on my own ever since. Every choice I make, every challenge I face, I do it for him. He’s my whole world, and I want to give him the peaceful, secure life he deserves.
I work as a personal chef and have always done my best to stay strong and provide. But it hasn’t been easy — especially without reliable childcare. As the mom of a child with special needs, finding someone I trust to care for him is difficult, and that makes holding a steady job incredibly challenging. I juggle it all: cooking, cleaning, taking on odd jobs, and most importantly, being there for my son — through every meltdown, every therapy session, every small victory and setback.
Now we’re facing a situation I can’t handle on my own. We urgently need to move, and I have to find a new place by August 1st. Our current apartment is no longer a safe or stable environment, and I’m desperate to get my son into a calm, supportive space where he can thrive. A place where we can breathe, rest, and begin to rebuild.
To make this move possible, I’m trying to raise enough to cover the security deposit, first month’s rent, and moving expenses. This isn’t just about relocating — it’s about giving my child the fresh start he deserves and laying the foundation for a more hopeful future.
