In Support of Concord Elementary Family

Dear Community, thank you for taking a moment to read this important message.

As many of you know, I teach at Concord Elementary School in South Park, and we are reaching out on behalf of one of my student's family who has been severely affected by ICE.

This past Monday, September 21st, the family was leaving a parent-teacher conference when they were pulled over and terrorized by ICE for no apparent reason. ICE agents smashed the windows of their car, with the kids inside, even though Dad was complying and ripped him out of the driver's seat. They didn't present a warrant or a reason for stopping the car. The only reason they didn't take Mom is because she is 4 months pregnant. *Dad has now been located*.

Mom is now the sole provider and works full-time. We are raising funds to help cover food, rent, car repair, gas, childcare related expenses, legal and immigration expenses, and any other support they may need for the foreseeable future. Pro Bono legal representation or advice is also desperately needed. 

Childcare has been taken care of temporarily by the incredible South Park community, but we are working on a long-term solution. Mom will not be able to work once she has her baby in the new year making financial stability even more critical. Your donations will help keep this family afloat while they navigate this enormous financial and emotional burden.

**We have upped the goal this evening based on the incredible donations that we’ve received so far. This week we will be speaking to mom and getting a better idea of her specific financial needs such as rent and other expenses she may have.
