In Support of Carter Krei and His Sweet Family

Hello to our friends, family, and Big Horn Basin community,
As many of you know, on June 13th, my amazing friend, Carter Krei, was involved in a side-by-side accident. He sustained a burst fracture of L2 and underwent emergency surgery to fuse L1-L4. He is now paralyzed below the knees. Two weeks after his first surgery, stenosis in his spinal column began causing him to lose function above his knees as well. Carter then made the tough decision to undergo a laminectomy, which led to multiple CSF leak complications. After five weeks in the hospital, Carter has entered a rehab facility and will be there for an undetermined amount of time. In the beginning, Carter worked to run his business from the hospital, but without being on-site, jobs could not be completed. This loss of income has placed an unexpected financial burden on him and his family. To hopefully ease this stressor and allow Carter to focus on his healing and family, we are asking for your support. This community rallies around its own like no other, and I know that firsthand.

From the start, Carter has shown an inhuman amount of resilience, strength, and determination. Despite this life-changing event, he has continued to be the same Carter we all know and love. He has kept his positive attitude, his sense of humor, and his ability to make those around him laugh. This accident has changed so much for Carter, but it has not changed who he is. He continues to face each challenge with courage and a mindset that inspires me, his family, and, most of all, the doctors. Carter is the type of person who shows up when others need him, and now it is our turn to show up for him. Carter is determined to walk out of rehab, so please know that donations are not the only thing we need right now. Your prayers, positive thoughts, encouragement, messages, and reminders that he is not going through this alone mean so much.
