In Support of Carter Guidry

My brother (and Dallas Cain's close friend) Carter unfortunately lost everything he owned in Thursday's devastating fire on Napoleon Avenue. He settled into this apartment a little over a year ago and had finally made it a place he could truly call home. Uni, his beloved orange cat, is the apple of his eye- Carter rescued him earlier this year and Uni quickly became his whole world, spoiled with Churus, toys, and an abundance of love. 

Sadly, Carter had no renter's insurance and everything he owned was destroyed by the fire or damaged by the water used to extinguish it. As Carter and his family looked on at the ongoing destruction Thursday, all we prayed for was Uni's safety. Everything else, we reminded ourselves, could eventually be replaced. 

An orange cat resembling Uni was rescued from the third floor, where Carter lived. After the immediate chaos subsided, Carter went to the emergency vet to pick up his cat, but ultimately discovered this was not Uni, but rather Bert, his neighbors' orange cat. Bert has since been happily reunited with his owners, but Uni remains missing. 

Any donations - in the form of money, meals, or assistance attempting to locate Uni would greatly help Carter and make a real difference in his attempt to rebuild. Financial donations will contribute to purchasing furniture, clothing, basic necessities, and hopefully a new laptop for work and his ultimate passion which is music.
