Dear family and friends,
I am reaching out today to share an urgent and heartfelt situation. My daughter, Citlalli Arias-Salas, tragically passed away due to what I firmly believe was preventable medical negligence. Dr. Marco Ayulo misdiagnosed her with fecal impaction, but the autopsy revealed she actually died from peritonitis caused by a perforation of the small intestine from a trichobezoar. Despite having overwhelming evidence, including medical records, an autopsy report, and expert testimony, my case was dismissed on procedural grounds at multiple court levels. Because of financial and legal hurdles, I wasn't able to effectively represent myself in court. I lost my job and couldn't afford the necessary court fees to submit critical records on time.
The situation worsened as the courts ignored key facts, such as my daughter being discharged with a high heart rate, abdominal pain, and a distended stomach. Even though I had expert testimony from Mrs. Bartholomew, who concluded that Dr. Ayulo’s treatment breached the standard of care, my attempts to seek justice have been continuously dismissed. I've even paid for a petition to the U.S. Supreme Court, but both my case and my petition for rehearing were denied. I am now feeling deep frustration and anger, as it seems the legal system prioritizes procedural technicalities over justice and truth.
I am seeking support to reopen my case and hold those responsible for my daughter's preventable death accountable. Here's how you can help:
