My son Benny was born with a brachial plexus birth injury and HIE. He spent 41 days in the NICU. His left arm was paralyzed at birth, and after an MRI, we learned that all the nerves in his left brachial plexus were affected. Benny had surgery in March, but he will need lifelong support to regain as much use of his arm as possible. We were denied other financial services at this time. We also recently ran out of OT services covered by our insurance, and Benny won't be able to get more therapy until the new year. Until then, we are waiting to see if our appeal with the insurance will go through and need resources to continue his sessions. I am trying to find a job that allows me to be involved in Benny's much-needed PT/OT sessions. Each session costs $65, which adds up to a little over $1,000 from now until January. With upcoming follow-ups, medical bills, and other expenses, we are doing our best to ensure Benny has what he needs. Any support helps.
