In Support of Ashley Funk

Ashley Funk
Ross Funk, who is just 12 years old, is in the ICU with a brain bleed and a skull fracture following an accident. It's a very tough time for him and his family. We are reaching out to ask for support during this urgent situation. Every little bit of help will make a big difference for Ross, Ashley and their loved ones as they face these challenges and challenges ahead during his recovery.
**update- Ross is in a medically induced coma for at least 3 days in order for his swelling to go down and the bleed to heal itself. We're at a standstill at the moment until they try to wake him up.Β  Keep praying!
***another update, Ross has a second bleed that they have taken him into surgery to fix. It's an impossible time for his family right now so please continue praying and sending all the good vibes πŸ™Β
****surgery went well, they were able to take care of his second bleed and place a drain for the other one. His pressures continued to spike a few hours after surgery so he was rushed for a CT scan. They didn't find anything that could be causing his increased pressures. They were running tests to see if it could be seizures.
******update!! They placed a different drain and his ICP has been stable so far. They are going to try and wean the medication that is halting his brain activity to see how he does! We're heading in the right direction but he still has a long road ahead. Anything you can give will help tremendously! Thank you to everyone who has donated and shared! Let's get them to 20k!Β
***Unfortunately most of Ross’s severe traumatic brain injury occurred in his frontal lobe. This seems to be causing him to be super sensitive and agitated while coming off of sedation. They stoped all but one of his medications. However he is restless and uncomfortable now. They don’t want to go backwards with more sedative or paralytic medications so they need to figure out a new plan. Yesterday we were hopeful that we could get him off the ventilator tomorrow but with this he just won’t be able to. He is tough and fighting. But we also need him to relax and allow his brain time to recover.
He is off the ventilator today and is tolerating it well so far, this is great progress so far! Please continue praying and donate what you can β™‘
