Hello family and friends,
We are trying to help someone who was being held against her will by human traffickers until she managed to get the attention of some community members who were able to help her escape when the police refused.
She lost most of her belongings and was robbed. She is still under threat by these people who were holding her and the police are refusing to allow her to file a police report or even see her own police file.
Her captors filed false civil actions against her while she was being held and a judge granted them without her ever being served. She is in desperate need of a safe place to stay and legal help. Despite extensive efforts, the agencies and charities that are set up to offer this kind of help, all say they do not have the capability to do so.
We have tried appealing to all appropriate agencies, offices, commissions, to the federal level to no avail. Her civil rights have been completely disregarded at every stage.
We are looking for financial help as well as federal legal advocacy.
