Hola, 

A principios de febrero, estaba cenando con mi familia cuando empecé a sentirme terrible. Medí mi nivel de azúcar en la sangre y la máquina dijo que mis niveles estaban peligrosamente altos. No quería correr ningún riesgo, así que fui directamente al hospital. 

¡Nunca hubiera imaginado que me admitirían en el hospital durante dos meses enteros! 

Los médicos en la sala de urgencias me dijeron que tenía neumonía y que mis órganos vitales estaban empezando a fallar. Después de semanas de pruebas y exploraciones, me diagnosticaron psoriasis del hígado y ahora me han añadido a la lista de trasplantes. 

Mientras estuve atrapado en una cama de hospital durante meses, mis piernas dejaron de responder y me volví incapaz de caminar. Me llevó semanas de terapia física recuperar suficiente fuerza para usar un andador, cepillarme los dientes y realizar otras tareas simples. 

Este ha sido el año más difícil de mi vida, pero mi familia ha sido un apoyo increíble, especialmente mi hermana, que ha pasado incontables días y noches conmigo, incluso mientras cuida de sus hijos. 

Desafortunadamente, no he podido trabajar desde el día en que fui hospitalizada (1 de febrero) y esta emergencia médica ha costado todos mis ahorros. 

Por eso, estoy pidiendo cualquier cosa que puedan contribuir. Desde el fondo de mi corazón, les agradezco por cualquier donación que puedan hacer. 

Por favor, pasen esta información a cualquier otra persona que pudiera ayudar.

At the start of February, I was having dinner with my family when I started to feel terrible. I measured my blood sugar and the machine said my levels were dangerously high. I didn’t want to take any chances, so I went straight to the hospital.
 
 I could never have imagined they would admit me to the hospital for two whole months!
 
 The doctors in the ER told me I had pneumonia and that my vital organs were starting to fail. After weeks of tests and scans, I was diagnosed with psoriasis of the liver and I have now been added to the transplant list.
 
 While stuck in a hospital bed for months, my legs stopped responding and I became unable to walk. It took weeks of physical therapy to regain enough strength to use a walker, brush my teeth and accomplish other simple tasks.
 
 This has been the most difficult year of my life, but my family has been an incredible support--especially my sister, who has spent countless days and nights with me, even while she looks after her children.
 
 Unfortunately, I have been unable to work since the day I was hospitalized (February 1st) and this medical emergency has cost all of my savings.
 
 That is why I am asking for anything you are able to contribute. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for any donation you can make.
