In Support of Almeida Gomez family

My unborn child is being left without a father. What was supposed to be one of the most precious moments in our families lives, has been turned into out worst fears. My husband was detained by ICE and the future looks bleak. Finding legitimate legal aid has been almost impossible to find. I have been left to manage my chronic medical conditions, high risk pregnancy, caring for my young daughter and maintaining out home with very little help from those that decided to separated our little family. The local justice system has also failed to keep our family safe. Releasing a dangerous individual from custody, not even leaving the protection order in place to give me any sense of security. This has become a serious life or death situation that we are not able to navigate without professional help.
Im not working due to my conditions and am finishing up my degree. All while trying to manage these larger than life obstacles that have been placed before us.
Inside the detention center is a living nightmare. I hear what these people do to him. The severe medical neglect, heavily chlorinated water, the amount of money I have to send so he can have soap to shower with. These family and community members are no longer human beings once booked into these facilities. It breaks my heart hearing him so sick with the respiratory virus that is spreading like wildfire in there. How they play against the guards just for an item from commissary because the food served is bearly edible most of the time.
Im here asking for support to bring my husband and father of my unborn child home. Im very much a do it myself kind of person, but I have come to a breaking point where im unable to manage a single thing on my to-do list. I fear for the life and safety of my family. Please consider helping bring our provider and protector home.
