An Update on Kendra

Today has been incredibly difficult for Kendra. In fact, the past several days have been some of the toughest we have experienced on this journey. The attached pictures are hard to share. What she is experiencing is difficult. With this said…she is a warrior.

Today alone, Kendra endured 14 seizures, each one taking a significant toll on her body. For Joni and I, there are few things more heartbreaking than watching our daughter suffer and knowing there is so little we can do to take her pain away.

We remain incredibly grateful for the amazing medical team at CHI Health Immanuel in Omaha. Their compassion, dedication, and determination to find answers have been nothing short of extraordinary. They continue to explore every possible avenue in search of the underlying cause of what is happening to Kendra.

There are moments when the exhaustion, frustration, and uncertainty feel overwhelming. But even in our most difficult moments, our faith remains greater than our fear. We know God is walking alongside Kendra, even when we do not understand the journey He has placed before her.

We ask that you continue praying for Kendra…for her strength, relief from these seizures, and wisdom and clarity for the doctors working so hard to find answers.

Joni and I will never give up. Kendra will never give up. And we continue to believe there are…

I met Kendra when she came to Jacksonville Florida and I was her Uber driver. To say she made a lasting impact is an understatement. She radiated with such positivity and meeting her was such a blessing. She is one of a kind and her faith and stories of her mission was so touching. This was a few years ago and I follow her on Facebook and I pray she gets better. She is truly an angel. Amy Wiggins.

Our hearts ache for precious Kendra, Steve and Joanie!! The tears fall. We cannot imagine what you are all going through. But we know the One who does!! A quote from the book Joanie, you gave to me. The one quote that touched my very soul. The only words that will bring any of us comfort in this. Know even as helpless as we feel, you are always in our thoughts and prayers!! Yes, greater things to come!! Love still wills us to joy!! For we know that not a hair falls from our head without our Father in Heaven knowing. He will never forsake you. He is holding Kendra in the palm of His hand. He will NEVER let her go!! Still, it is hard not to question the why, and the suffering you all are going through. But I do know this, we have to trust in Him. He will measure out your strength for each day, lean on that. One day at a time, one hour or one minute is all we can sometimes do. Please give our love to Kendra! And also to u Steve and Joanie!! Please try to get some rest each nite. And think about the great celebration the community, family and friends will have when you come home, healed, and ready for Kendra to continue her life!! What a witness she will be for all those who are hurting and those to yet come to Christ!! God has big plans for her!!!! Thankful for the updates!! All the love and prayers we can send you!!!
