Cancer changes so many things, even your wardrobe

Not only is every day different, but it seems like every morning, afternoon, and evening can bring a completely different set of highs and lows.

Yesterday evening, Liam wasn't feeling up to eating much, so we planned to walk to Sonic and grab a Powerade slush to help with hydration. He was already wearing silky athletic shorts, but before we left, he went to his closet and put on a long-sleeved, collared button-up shirt.

When I asked him why, he said his head (hair follicles) hurt so badly that he didn't even want to pull a shirt over his head.

So instead of just heading to Sonic, we made a stop to find some short-sleeved button-up shirts that would be easier and less painful for him to wear.

Cancer changes so many things. Some of them are the big, obvious things everyone thinks about. Others are the little things you never would have consideredβ€”like having to rethink your wardrobe because pulling a T-shirt over your head hurts.

It's a reminder that even the smallest daily tasks can look completely different when you're walking through cancer.

As you keep your focus on Him, I know our Father is FAITHFUL to prepare a table before you in the presence of your enemies! β€œ . . . Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven . . . β€œ

What a great spirit Liam has, to think about what shirt to wear but to still go on the walk. He is to be admired.
