Weston has been having a rough few days with withdrawal, low/high blood pressures and what they call CVICU delirium. He has also high heart rates again but the cardiac doctors are not concerned with that as the Berlin is doing its job pumping his blood. They keep changing meds to try to get his blood pressure figured out. They want him in the range of 100/30. They don’t want his systolic(top number) over 100 and they want his diastolic (bottom number) over 30. They started some new meds over the last few days to help with his anxiety and to keep him comfortable. Over the last few days he would only sleep if I was holding and rocking him, today he did get a few hours of rest without me rocking him.

Weston is still being fed by a feeding tube but we did try a bottle today and will try again everyday until he is ready. Babies forget how to feed when they have been fed through a tube for so long.

Weston got a bed upgrade to a crib and he also got a nice little rocker chair that he is loving! Still have a lot of IV lines but hopefully some will go away in the near future.

I only ask Weston for 1% better everyday until he gets his new heart. Until that gift comes we will continue to do our best to do normal baby things.
