Stella Genco Fisher
Yesterday (Wednesday), we were able to visit little Miss Stella at the hospital. She was so happy to see us, and we laid right there on the hospital floor with her for a solid 30 minutes—loving on her, giving her endless kisses, and just soaking in the time together. They mentioned she might be able to come home today, but we had to wait for the official word.
Around 8:00 AM this morning (Thursday), we got the call: Stella was ready to be discharged!
We set pickup for 5:00 PM, and honestly, the wait was agonizing. At one point during the day, I told my team at work that we were picking her up, and the happy tears just started flowing—thank goodness for working from home!
Matt and I arrived a bit early, and the veterinary team walked us through her discharge instructions. The road ahead involves 4–6 weeks of strict rest, a daily lineup of medications, and physical rehab for our sweet little potato. She is eager to use her legs, but we need to help her rebuild her strength safely.
To make the homecoming smooth, we gave Penny and Bosco some calming meds beforehand. When we walked in with Stella, Penny immediately started sniffing her as if to say, "Is this really my sister?" She clearly senses Stella needs extra care and is already in full protective sister mode. Bosco is fascinated by her scent and keeps gently checking on her. We also set up a cozy pet stroller so Stella can safely hang out with us in every room without getting bumped by the other two.
When all was said and done, the total cost for her emergency care and hospitalization came out to $27,000+. She is worth every single penny and more, but any support, shares, or help getting the word out would mean the world to our family. 😂❤️

We are beyond grateful to have her resting in her own home, even though we still have a long journey ahead. Thank you all so much for the love, prayers, and support!
