We cannot thank everyone enough for the continued kindness, love, and support you’ve shown us—we are truly humbled. If you are able, please continue to share this page to help us get the word out. The latest ICU estimate is around $24,000, but our little girl is worth every single penny.
Here is the latest update on little Miss Stella from this evening:
How She’s Doing
-
Breathing strong: Stella is doing fantastic and breathing entirely on her own with zero ventilation support!
-
Pain management: She is resting comfortably on her current medications, and the team will begin testing how she tolerates slowly tapering them down.
-
Eyes: The vet noted she has dry eyes—unclear if it’s from the trauma or just a baseline issue—meaning she might need daily rewetting drops long-term. If that's the biggest hurdle, we’ll happily take it!
-
Personality shining through: The doctor reported that she has been "scooting around the perimeter of her bed" (which is classic Stella 😂). Best of all, the ICU staff has been playing cartoons for her. She loved The Land Before Time today, though they quickly learned she is not a fan of Thomas the Tank Engine—it made her pant and get fussy, so Thomas is officially banned from her bed! 🦕🚫🚂 I'm including a photo they sent us a few days ago of her watching Clifford. 🐶
Next Steps Since she has been resting in the ICU, a full neurological and mobility evaluation hasn't happened yet, but seeing her scoot is such a promising sign. Tomorrow, the plan is to transfer her to the neurology team. They will evaluate her leg function, assess her bladder control (she still has a catheter in place), and potentially begin physical therapy.
Things are definitely moving in a hopeful direction. Please keep the prayers, good vibes, and shares coming—we miss her terribly and can’t wait to bring her home when she’s ready!
