Chemo Round 3

Chemo round 3 started yesterday morning and was a bit of a rocky start. For the first time ever, Eva came home and vomited after a chemo. We did not have any medications that were options to give so she just took it easy and we knew that changes had to be made today.
At chemo today, they ran a nausea medication through her port and prescribed sculpamine patches as well. She has already called and told me that she feels “much” better than yesterday. She was spicy enough to inform me that she needed Taco Bell for dinner and would be stopping there on their way home.
As happy as we are that this chemo seems to be working and that she is fighting so hard, that worry is always in the back of our heads and hearts. Are the scans on March 9th going to show that this chemo has stopped working too? We know that God has a plan for Eva, but waiting for that plan to be shown to us is often the hardest part.
I keep telling people that I think we have hit a stride and come to what will be our new normal for a while, then life hits hard and the new normal crumbles to dust. I like to think of this journey as an ant hill…. We build and build, only to have it swept away and start again the next day. The good news is, God helps us get back up and start each day new. Continue to keep Eva in your prayers. She told me the other day that God is healing her again and I better not be getting mad at the person who is healing her. I guess as always, she knows better than I do. Thanks for walking with us in this valley.
