Standing in Faith for Eva
Today was the beginning of Chemo cycle 2. Because Eva didn’t have school, she asked to bring her best friend along for the day and with team permission, we had a crew of four today! We took the girls shopping and to lunch, then headed to our chemo appointment, where we were bummed to find that Eva’s port was not working correctly. She was unable to get her long acting anti-nausea med, so we put TPN in the port to make it work and gave her an oral medication to get our process going. With the added time, we played some games and made bracelets because Eva received a care package from Bags of Fun Kansas City and another from the Isla Cares foundation. The girls were awesome and we headed home after chemo but had to make a few stops. In typical cancer parent fashion, we knew what we wanted to get James for his birthday tomorrow and had the money put aside, but hadn’t had the chance to grab it from the store. We grabbed James’ gifts and some dinner before returning Carol to her mom and bringing our girl home. She is struggling with nausea already and I am worried that this will be a long night. Keep those prayers coming, she was able to get a benedryl when we walked in the door and her next oral anti-nausea is schedule for 10:00 PM. We don’t get any updates from the team during appointments like these, just regular check ins, but her scans are scheduled for December 29, 2025. Join me in praying that this cancer is shrinking or gone. We need a miracle and we have an Awesome God!
