Happy Thursday!
It's been a busy week and a half. Sienna got to re-experience the beach for the first time post brain injury. She did not like the ocean water and cried immediately- in fairness it was a little chilly! BUT we LOVE to see her cry, yes, you heard that correctly! It's great to see her reacting appropriately to things - just like today at her blood draw she also cried as soon as the phlebotomist poked her.
Sienna has been doing some really cool things at therapy!! Her therapists got her standing in a pediatric walker with forearm support as well as standing in a gait trainer and even simulating steps while inside it. She tolerated the gait trainer for ~6 minutes before becoming upset enough to be taken out. It was HARD work! It was pretty cool to see her doing these things.
She is becoming so much more aware of her baby sister, Jayce, and constantly reaches out for her when they are lying on the floor together. It is extremely heartwarming to see this.
Sienna also had her every 3 month cardiology appointment at the end of last week to check on her heart function/ melody valve ( her fake valve). Her valve has mild leakage however this remains unchanged- which is great news!
All in all it was a pretty good last week! Continuing to pray for progress and seeking out the best treatments to support her recovery. Thank you for following along our journey and continuing to share this page so we can facilitate progress in whatever way possible for our girly pop.
