Hello friends + family,

It's hard to believe it is August already! The end of July ended with a brief ER trip. She is totally fine but out of precaution we had to call 911 to ensure Sienna was okay. Her vent circuit accumulates water frequently throughout the night ( depending on fluctuations of room temperature and the heating chamber) that require emptying intermittently. When she woke up in the morning before the water could be emptied from her circuit she lifted her arm during her " morning awakening stretch" and a good amount of water went down her airway causing her oxygen to drop and coloring to be off. Her oxygen wasn't coming up except for during bagging so 911 was called out of precaution. Once she was settled she was fine but still had to be brought to the ER for routine labs and chest x ray to double check that everything was okay! She was discharged shortly after. Despite Sienna being okay this time, it always resurfaces a lot of emotions & PTSD having to call 911 because it usually does not end well.

Since then, our girly has been super smiley the last week and it has been so nice to see. She's been doing a really nice job during her therapies the last week and a half- holding onto objects for longer periods of time and exhibiting more trunk control during different PT and OT activities.  She continues to show so much interest in her baby sister and tracks all of us around the house.

Thank you for continuing to follow along Sienna's brain injury recovery journey, it means the world to us to have so much support from our community. None of this would be possible without you all. Please share her page within your communities so that we can continue to pursue and explore " outside the box" treatments for our girl to give her the best life possible.

With gratitude and love,
The Caines Family
