Happy Friday!

We had another busy week between the neuro chiropractor and Sienna's daily therapies.
Sienna had a re-evaluation at the neuro chiropractor and all her "numbers" and charts are slowly starting to move towards a more balanced central nervous system; which is great news. It is definitely carrying over into her therapies and enabling her to get the most out of them. She's beginning to have improved head and trunk control while in a sitting position and also in a sidelying position. She is also starting to have improved trunk rotation. Once a week as part of her therapies, Sienna goes into the sensory room on a swing. She swung this past week with much less support ( towel rolls and positioners) than when we first started doing this! She is even starting to hold onto the rope for a couple seconds when her hand is placed on it.

Sienna went in the pool for the 2nd time since her brain injury. It is encouraged to do things like this with her for the sensory input exposure and just doing things that she loved before. She definitely seems to enjoy being held in the water and swished around; she gives us little smirks.
Sienna and her sister's bond is so heartwarming. Earlier in the week, she reached out for Jayce ( baby sister) and they were holding hands. It was truly the sweetest moment!

It's hard to believe Sienna will be turning FOUR next Saturday! This birthday is most definitely bittersweet. She survived a prolonged resuscitation but is not the "same Sienna" we had prior due to severe brain damage from no oxygen for that length of time. Although she has made good progress with therapy, she is still 100% dependent with all physical movement (she cannot hold her head upright, sit unsupported, etc) and requires constant caregiving. We are continuing to ask our community to spread & share this page so that we can do everything feasibly possible to help strengthen her brain's neuroplasticity and create new motor pathways to help facilitate healing. Every single share and donation, no matter the amount, is truly a blessing and makes a meaningful difference. We couldn't be anymore grateful for this village supporting us/ her.

With gratitude and love,
The Caines Family
