Hello everyone!
Sienna had a pretty good week at therapy overall. She is definitely trying to hold her head more and has been tolerating increased time in the gait trainer and even beginning to enjoy it! She tolerated almost 20 minutes of standing/ simulating walking today by the therapists- compared to the first time that she did it which she only tolerated 6 minutes before hysterically crying. She has been continuing to LOVE her lollipops. Sienna is sticking her tongue out so far to lick them, farther than we have ever seen.
Sienna got her 24 hour EEG placed this morning at neurology. She looks super cute in it although it does resurface some trauma as she had many EEG's immediately post brain injury where it showed little to no brain activity. We will know the results in 2-3 weeks to see if we can rule out seizures to come off keppra ( seizure meds).
Sienna has been enjoying playing with her adapted switch toys, specifically her bubble machine. It truly is amazing being able to give her this sense of independent play with them as she doesn't have the fine motor skills she had pre brain injury.
We will continue to post updates as we have them. If you feel inclined to do so, please continue to share her page so that we can continue to explore and hopefully one day soon get our girly some stem cells after the 2 DMI intensives that we have booked already for this fall/ early winter. Thank you so much for continuing to support and follow along Sienna's brain injury recovery/ journey.
Much gratitude & love,
