The Shuman Family
Next week Todd heads in for LOTS of testing. Pet scans, blood work, biopsy's, MRI's etc. We are anxiously waiting for these tests. These tests will be telling us a lot.
This weekend our family is going to be doing a fast and we would love all those who want to join us, to please do so. If you aren't into fasting, please pray and if praying isn't your thing, please send all the positive vibes you can. We will take anything we can get.
We had someone tell us that they wish they knew what to do for us and we told them we truly believe that all the prayers being sent our way is what is keeping us going and why Todd is doing so well. Yes, he is doing a lot of "out of the box" things but it's prayers that are lifting us.
We are also so grateful for all the financial help. Each week we get another 1-2 bills and between those and all the other remedies that Todd has chosen to help him on this journey, it's very overwhelming and so we are so extremely grateful. I don't even know how to express our gratitude.
One of the signs that Todd's cancer is progressing is that his bones become brittle and break very easily. We have been married over two decades and Todd has never broke anything. Ever. Two weeks ago he was doing something that he always does, just goofing around with his nephew and he broke a rib. He's been in a lot of pain but he isn't letting it slow him down. It could be a total fluke or it could be more.
Which is the reason we are asking for prayers. We are praying it's nothing more and all is okay.
When people ask how he is feeling, the best way to explain it is when you have had the flu and you're just coming back from having a terrible case of it and you're tired, weak, blah, headaches everyday etc...that's how he feels. But, you wouldn't know because he's still showing up in all the places. Home, work, our family, church....and he does it all with a smile.
Next week is a BIG week. We won't get all the results for a few weeks (it took forever last time to get all the info from the biopsy back). So be patient with me/us if it takes awhile to update. We have really just been trying to savor the family and get rid of a lot of distractions lately. Thank you for being on this journey with us.
Thank you for your love, support, prayers, kind words, positive vibes and any and every other way you have been there for our family. We truly appreciate it all.
