Todd had his entire workup last week. It was a long couple of days. We are slowly getting results back. We are trying not to look into things too much and waiting for the doctor to go over everything with us (but they didn't have any openings until September to meet with him). So we are TRYING to be patient. On the way home we had an awakening that this is just the beginning....and that is sometimes a hard thing to wrap our head around. I think we were both hoping transplant was the end (even though we knew it wasn't) it was just a big slap in the face as we had to deal with a few things that our reality is going to be longer and harder than we were hoping.
In the meantime, his bloodwork did come back with his levels being extremely low. So he goes in for another IVIG infusion next week. The IVIG infusion is collected antibodies from healthy donors. It's like getting a blood transfusion but instead of receiving blood, he is getting antibodies to help strenghten his immune system. He has low energy and exhausted (even though he is back to work full time now and you wouldn't realize it) so hopefully this infusion will not only up his immune system but give him some energy, too.
Thanks for all the continued loves and prayers.
