Presley’s SDR surgery is scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday, May 13th) at 8:45 AM SK time / 7:45 AM Vancouver time.
As we prepare, I’m feeling so many emotions—gratitude, fear, hope, and heaviness all at once. It’s one thing to prepare for a major surgery. It’s another to prepare your child emotionally, knowing she’s about to experience pain and confusion, and that you’ll be right beside her through it all.
Presley has had a lot of questions lately… about why she has cerebral palsy, why she needs surgery, and why we’ve had to leave our home behind. And while this experience will be hard in the short term—both physically and emotionally—I’m holding tightly to the hope that this surgery will support her mobility and reduce her pain as she grows.
We’ll be staying at the hospital until Friday, and then at Ronald McDonald House until Tuesday. After that, she begins her intensive therapy program at Sunny Hill, working daily on strength and movement to support her progress.
To everyone who has sent love, prayers, and encouragement—thank you. And to those who have made financial donations through SupportNow, please know that your generosity is helping us immensely right now. It’s allowing me to focus fully on Presley and be present for her healing.
I’ll share another update a few days after surgery. Please keep her in your thoughts tomorrow. 💛
