Yesterday was one of the hardest days of my life.
Presley went into surgery at 7:45 AM BC time and came out around 1 PM. The procedure went as expected, but what followed has been incredibly difficult. We stayed on the surgical floor until 11 PM, and those hours were full of intense pain, relentless nausea, and a fight to stabilize her.
She screamed in pain for hours, and nothing prepares your heart for that. As a mother, watching her suffer and feeling so helpless was a level of heaviness I can’t put into words.
Her back is in alot of pain and her eyes and feet are now extra sensitive—something they’re monitoring closely, as it could be due to spinal fluid loss. It’s something we have to stay on top of.
Despite all of this… Presley has moved through it with such gentleness and kindness. Even in pain, she has been so sweet and patient—and I’ve never been more in awe of her strength. 💕
We’re now on the post-op floor where we’ll stay until her pain is managed and we have clarity around the eye and foot symptoms. After this, we’ll move to the acute rehab centre where she’ll begin intensive therapy over the next few weeks.
For now, the focus is simply helping her little body rest and begin to recover from this major surgery.
Thank you so much for your love, prayers, and messages. This has been hell, if I’m being honest—but I’m holding onto hope that it gets easier from here. ❤️🩹
