After we got home, that Wednesday, he started acting like he does after anesthesia..  The anesthesia meds take over the receptors that the neurology meds use!  We had to give him lots of rescue meds to help him get through it until one of the doctors on the Transplant Team told us to take him to the ED and he would let the doctors there know.  We packed up everything and took off.  We stayed in the ED for about 5 hours that night before getting put into a room.  They ended up putting him on the CVICU floor because the Nora virus was running rampant on the 8th floor and they were not having him around that.  We ended up staying all week and was able to go home on Friday, the 21st.  Nick had a rough week.  He would have intense pain and he couldn't tell us what was hurting him.  We could tell it was pain since his heart rate was always up.  The neurological part cleared up fairly quick, but then he was still hurting.  The doctors finally came to the conclusion that he was constipated.  They kept giving him suppositories and enemas.  He pooped a liter in one day!  He finally got to feeling better.  By the end of the week though, the Nora virus had made its way up to the CVICU.  Those patients were put on one end of the hall.  The staff had us use the Staff bathroom to try to avoid getting sick.  Thankfully, we didn't get sick!  Since Nick was doing so much better, they wanted us to get out of the hospital before we did catch something.  We packed up, got him dressed and loaded up the car.  Once we got home, we gave him a bath (that's the 1st thing I always do) and then he started crying again.  We gave him his rescue meds in the order we were supposed to.  His home health nurse came after we got home to help us.  I had a birthday party to decorate and buy for!!!
