Today Mack had his first appointment with this Pulmonologist since we returned from Texas. Let me just explain more about Macks condition from a respiratory standpoint before we left to help with the point of this post.
Mack was prescribed two inhalers, nebulizer treatments and an airway clearance vest after catching rhino virus in the winter of 2025. This virus turned into Bronchiolitis. This was the second time he's ever been sick. The first time it was also rhino virus and it turned into bronchiolitis then as well. After catching this virus in the winter of 2025, "respiratory failure" was added to his list of diagnoses. He was requiring 1 1/2 liters per minute of oxygen supplementation even after the coughing and secretions let up. We started using red light at home on his chest and that reduced his oxygen to 1 1/4 - 1 liter per minute in just a couple days! January goes by and then we got to our Functional neurology intensive in Texas which was centered around red light. Mack did 1 hour of red light/ Near Infrared light (NIL) on the front of his body for 10 consecutive days. We also used a Red/NIL laser on his chest when he caught the local allergies there. On the way home from Texas we noticed Mack's oxygen requirement at 1 l/p was keeping him at 99/100 % saturation. we weaned him down to 3/4 and then that was too much so we weaned him to 1/2 and he stayed there at 96% for an hour or two. His baseline became 3/4 l/m for a couple weeks and then we noticed he only needed 1/2 l/m 24/7. now we are seeing him only requiring 1/4 l/m a handful of days per week as we continue red light therapy at home.
All of this was communicated to his pulmonologist (lung Dr.). Today Dr. Omlor told me " Wow, he sounds great!" and "His improvement is absolutely remarkable!" Mind you, we havent used any of his inhalers or nebulizers since january.. and they were even making a difference for him.
These unintended improvements are soooo welcome and its so good to hear his pulmonologist wrack his brain at Mack's case. I think Mack is here to change the world. Thank you all for supporting our urge for more answers and alternative therapies!! Your continued support means the world to us! Mack continues to defy his diagnosis list every day and the baby in the appointment room is not who the Doctors thought he would be. Praise God!
If you know any one with chronic respiratory issues, even if they're unexplained please show them this post. RED LIGHT is life changing. Buy a panel, Take it to hospital admissions, take it on vacation. It will be your most valuable tool in your tool box.
We use a Hooga Pro 300. (I do not benefit from sharing this information, i just want to share this great tool.)
