Update from Team Lori 💪🌼

Like the total warrior she is, Lori is home recovering from major abdominal surgery. She’s handling it like a champ, despite a minor plot twist involving a little blood in her urine (we know, TMI)—which her medical team is closely monitoring. The likely culprits? An infection or a misbehaving stent in her ureter (yes, that’s a thing). So far, scans indicate that the stent is functioning correctly, and they're adding another round of antibiotics just in case any microscopic troublemakers are still present. With the cancer (pre-surgery) surrounding the ureter and near the bladder, the team is hopeful this hiccup will pass

Now we’re in what we call the “hurry-up-and-wait” phase. Chemo was supposed to start three weeks after surgery, but the referral process is slowly making its way through the medical system. Fingers crossed for an August 1st start, so she can finish chemo before the holidays and maybe even enjoy some turkey without nausea on the side.

How You Can Help Right Now

The Lawn
Lori’s incision says “no” to mowing, and the lawn says “hello, jungle.” If you’ve got a few minutes to spare, she’d be so grateful for the help. She has a brand new mower ready for the job. Text her to coordinate.

The Bills
Thanks to YOUR generosity, Lori is this close to covering her mountain of medical bills. Every donation—big, small, or surprise Venmo—is helping her fight cancer without fighting financial panic. We can’t thank you enough. Truly.

What's next while we wait for chemo?

The Upcoming Auction
We’re putting together an Instagram auction fundraiser in the coming weeks. Got something to donate? We’re looking for:

• Bath & Body treasures
• Quilts, crafts, baked goods, candles
• Household items, clothes, cool services, event tickets
• Bigger-ticket items, sporting equipment, or donations from your business or businesses in your network.

Literally anything that could spark a bidding war. Because nothing brings people together like a little competitive generosity.

If you have an idea or would like to donate, you can email Jennie at jenniedopp@gmail.com or text me at 801-726-2524.

Also, keep an eye out for a meal train sign-up to help keep Lori fed during chemo. Meals will be one less thing to stress about and make a big difference. Because Lori has been through this before, she knows which days in the chemo cycle will take her out and where she will need help.

We’re so grateful to all of you for showing up, donating, and cheering Lori on. Please continue to share her Support Now page. Every bit of help keeps her moving forward.

Let’s get her through this. All in.

Thanks for keeping us all informed, and for letting us know what her and her family are currently in need of. Lori and her family are constantly in my prayers and thoughts. I hope she’s able to finish chemotherapy before the holidays.
