We are STRUGGLING adjusting to home life, but anything is better than hospital life.
Emmy is so much happier and herself at home. Getting back into a routine, not only for her, but for all of us is proving to be a bit difficult.

We have loved our visitors so far! Emmy is in a good phase to be around healthy visitors. But we are still being very cautious and making them short visits since she fatigues easily.

She has enjoyed the park, riding her bike, dancing in the living room, continuing the tour de doctors, and going to Target!

On Monday, she had her first clinic visit. It went very well. It was nice to show up, do what we needed and go HOME!

During clinic they accessed Emmy's port(she's not a fan of that) to run some blood tests, all of which came back looking good!
They then put her to sleep so they could do a lumbar puncture and give her chemo into her spinal fluid. This is a medication that most likely played a role in her PRES, so the anxiety is high. However, research shows that it's rare for PRES to happen twice and that most kids don't need the medication removed from thier road map. To be extra cautious, they did add on a medication to help protect her healthy cells! She will do this exact same thing for the next 2 weeks on Mondays.

We also saw the nephrologist today, and we are starting to wean her blood pressure medication.
Later this week we will see GI to follow up on her belly.
She will hopefully start PT very soon!

In lighter news, Cooper is also back home! I think he very much enjoyed his vacation at Sam and Trevors!

And, the 90's dance party at First Draft in Grayslake is Thursday! Nate will there to show his gratitude for all those that continue to support us through this long, difficult journey!

❤️
