It’s been awhile since we updated this page!
Emmy is doing very well right now.
We finally got over the constant viruses with a little help from IVIG, which made her feel terrible, but now we are doing much better(knocks on wood).
We were admitted to the hospital last week to start her second round of Blina(her continuous infusion that she carries in a back pack for 28 days). Don’t ask me why… but I went into the admission thinking we’re gonna breeze through this and be out in 24 hours 🫠
Four hours into the infusion we had high fevers and vomiting. We ended up staying for 48 hours.
Emmy went from fevering under a cooling blanket and throwing up, to loosing a tooth and getting an official work badge, all within 24 hours.
The Nurses are SO amazing! When I totally did a mom fail and forgot to take the tooth from under the pillow (in a decorated urine cup) and leave the money, the nurses had it covered and had already snuck a toy onto her bed.
I won’t talk about what’s up next for Emmy, because I have learned that nothing goes as planned. But overall Emmy is doing very well and we are taking any opportunity we can to have a little bit of normalcy!
We have enjoyed the movies, sledding, meals out with friends, birthday parties, preschool family fun night, soccer for Brookie, riding our bike and baking!
The MOST exciting update to our lives is that we have 2 new nephew/cousins to snuggle! (Oh ya, we also survived babysitting Enzo and Cruz with very little if any hiccups 🎉)
Life is still incredibly chaotic, but we will keep swimming!
If anyone is interested in shaving their head for St. Baldricks in March, please let me know and I will send over the link. An 8th grader at Emmy’s school is holding an event on March 16th.
