Houston, we have a good report

Hello, friends and family,

Katie's wrapping up her fourth consecutive week in hot ol' Houston. She had a good report on her blood levels at a regular follow-up appointment this past Tuesday. Specifically, with white blood cell counts trending toward nearly normal, she's been able to get out and about. She's feeling good and walking and swimming nearly every day.

She has another regular follow-up next Tuesday. That one will be with Dr. Livingston (I presume), who is leading the clinical trial. Hoping to get some more specific details about how he thinks the immunotherapy is working. However, it's still a waiting game; her next scans are in September to see how the tumors have responded. It's hard to feel so good/normal yet not know exactly what's going on inside.

But Katie is Katie. Maintaining positive spirits. Missing her people, but staying busy with books, puzzles, BritBox, museums and even an outing to the outdoor Shakespeare fest to see "The Tempest" last night.
