Hi Everyone,
I hope this finds you all well. It's been a while - too long - since I've shared an update. Since the last update, we have started and just about completed the Make-A-Wish bathroom "makeover." Jordan also started her second full year of pre-school.
The bathroom has come along so nicely. We widened the doorframe and added a pocket door for accessibility. The shower was expanded to allow for a roll-in shower chair, which will be a game changer, especially as she gets older and bigger. We removed the bathroom vanity and installed a floating sink that is ADA compliant. And, we took out the bathroom closet to make room for an adult size changing table. This bathroom is completely accessible for Jordan and it is right around the corner from the dining room that we are converting to her bedroom. It is so exciting and special.
We have felt so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with Make-A-Wish. They helped us navigate the entire process. They also made the project possible, providing significant financial support and resources. That said, the weren't able to do everything. There are somethings Make-A-Wish cannot do, like change the floorplans of the house, which included widening the doorframe. They also have a budget they need to work within. So, as expected, there was some "spill over" for us to cover and we were able to cover that because of all of you. Your generosity made this possible! I cannot wait to have the bathroom finished and ready to show. When we do, I want to send you all a video or photo collage of the bathroom that you helped make possible for Jordan. This bathroom will be something that will enhance her quality of life for years to come - and we cannot thank you enough.
