Over the past week, Joe has received several different IV antibiotics to treat the infection that developed at his graft site. Unfortunately, they have not had the effect his surgeon was hoping for. The new plan is to try treating the infection with amniotic fluid injections. Not every infection is suitable for this treatment, so it is currently going through the necessary approval process. The hope is that this treatment will successfully clear the infection and, in turn, prevent the need for another surgery.

On a positive note, the harvesting site on his thigh has stopped bleeding and is healing nicely. Although it is still his main source of pain, it continues to improve.

Joe is also doing well with PT. He continues to follow all of his stretching instructions and is demonstrating good mobility in the other burn areas on his hands, left arm, and face.

Despite this setback with the infection, Joe continues to maintain a positive attitude, which is helping him get through this difficult ordeal.

Thank you all for continuing to keep Joe and Greta in your thoughts and prayers. Your love, support, and encouragement truly mean the world to them. ❤️
