The socks!

Jessica Tish
I noticed she was wearing “fun” socks for the first chemo treatment. Not her usual MO.
I didn’t realize it was her weekly plan until the third week.
If you know Jessica, you know she’s not one to intentionally draw attention to herself. That’s why keeping this page updated, and even putting her diagnosis “out there” has been a bit of a challenge for her.
But that’s also why I love the socks.
It’s her way of doing something for herself and keeping her spirits up. Nobody really sees them but her… well, and me. And a few nurses. And now apparently all of you (shhhhh… I hope this doesn’t ruin it for her). And it seems to be working. 🙂
Today starts Cycle 2 (of four), and once again she’s been able to report only a few manageable side effects. Today’s nurse called that amazing - and rare.
Is it bad to say I’m not surprised?
With all the healthy dietary changes we’ve been making, along with the prayers and incredible support surrounding us, I’m just not. We’ve been expecting things to go well. And they are.
Call it luck. Call it chance. Call it whatever you want. We call it faith… and God’s grace and blessing. Those, along with the amazing support from all of you, are truly sustaining us.
This week will bring the implementation of some of the integrative recommendations we received just yesterday.
Thank you so much for the kind words, texts, prayers, meals, gifts, and hugs. We feel it all.
